Purpose.

MarVelous Brown, aka DeeDub, was born in Savannah, Georgia on the base of Fort Stewart. Shortly after he was born, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he found his love for music.

After graduating from Whitehaven High School, DeeDub attended Tennessee State University where he earned a B.S. in Music. During his time at Tennessee State, he participated in the Aristocrat of Bands, Jazz Collegians and University Wind Ensemble.

Participating in these ensembles gave DeeDub the opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally. He performed at the 2013 Flower Festival in Medellín, Colombia and participated in opportunities connected with the White House Initiative on HBCUs.

DeeDub is grateful for the opportunity to minister to people through music on air at The Gospel Nashville, sharing uplifting messages and inspiring praise with listeners near and far.

DeeDub is a 2011 initiate of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Incorporated by way of the Eta Xi Chapter. He is also a 2017 initiate of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated by way of the Eta Beta Sigma Chapter.
